Itzúl joined CAFB in 2021 as a Senior Policy Advocate. She was previously at the Redwood Empire Food Bank for more than 10 years as Advocacy Manager and in other roles implementing food distribution programs and disaster response. She’s an expert in Summer Food Service Program and other child nutrition programs. Itzúl is a longtime California Hunger Action Coalition and Anti-hunger advocate working to improve and strengthen the nutrition safety net. Advocacy has long been her passion.
Itzúl has a BA in Anthropology and a BFA in sculpture/printmaking from Sonoma State University. She sings and bangs on the keyboard in a local punk band and loves to garden.
Her favorite food? A tie between sushi and Thai green curry.
