This month, many anti-hunger organizations participate in Hunger Action Month — a nationwide initiative to raise awareness of hunger and promote ways for individuals to get involved to create lasting change.
We want to share just a few examples of how some of CAFB’s member food banks are engaging their communities throughout the state.
#IfOnlyYouKnew
Alameda County Community Food Bank’s #IfOnlyYouKnew campaign will educate legislators and the community by sharing first-hand accounts from seniors and disabled individuals affected by Supplemental Security Income (SSI/SSP) cuts on its Hunger Action Month 和 脸书 pages.
“30 ways in 30 days”
圣克拉拉和圣马特奥县第二收获食品银行, Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino Counties 和 人们的食物 in Humboldt County each created a “30 ways in 30 days” online calendar.

Finally, if you’ve seen some selfies with spoons over social media, you’ve seen Feeding America’s #Spoontember campaign, another Hunger Action Month reminder of the ways we can all play a role in ending hunger.
