Disaster CalFresh Available for Shasta County; Automatic Replacement Benefits Information

August 17, 2018

Disaster CalFresh

As a response to the Carr Fire, Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) approved Disaster CalFresh in Shasta County. Applications will be accepted August 22-25 and August 27-29. The state will not be deploying outreach workers, so we encourage everyone with a connection to Shasta County to help get the word out as quickly as possible given the limited application window.

Even individuals and families who are not eligible for regular CalFresh may qualify for Disaster CalFresh if they:

Lived or worked in Shasta County on July 23; and

  • Incurred disaster-related expenses; or
  • Experienced a disruption in income; or
  • Had damage to their home or self-employment property; or
  • Experienced food loss as result of the fire or related power outages; and
