Join us at California Farm Bill Listening Sessions

August 2, 2017

CAFB is organizing our members to champion the importance of SNAP and the nutrition safety net at the Farm Bill Listening Session this Saturday morning in Modesto and next Thursday, August 10, in Salinas. All food bank staff and partner agencies are welcome to join the sessions to share personal examples of the effectiveness and success of federal nutrition programs like SNAP.

“These listening sessions are a continuation of the Committee’s review of farm bill programs and I’m looking forward to hearing directly from farmers and others impacted by the farm bill. Real world examples of what is, and maybe isn’t, working will help better inform Committee members when we begin the task of writing a new farm bill,” said Ranking Member Peterson.

If you cannot attend a listening session in person, we encourage you to submit comments to the House Agriculture Committee on the importance of SNAP in the Farm Bill.

Additionally, we anticipate live video coverage of the listening sessions will be posted on the main page of the House Agriculture Committee website.
