Governor Brown released the May revise to the State Budget last Friday. While CAFB was pleased to see CalFood included, we were disappointed it wasn’t funded at $20.6 million and that our request for $25 million for a one-time infrastructure investment wasn’t met.
Thankfully there is still time to get these asks in the budget. We are asking your food bank to help us deliver the message to the following decision makers:
Governor Jerry Brown

Sen. Toni Atkins- Pro Tem (D- San Diego)
SD 39

The next two weeks are critical in making our request heard. We’ve created a toolkit of resources to aid in spreading the word. Click here to access it.
Not only does the voice of your food bank make a difference, but so do your supporters’. Please think about including a call to action in planned digital communications (emails, Facebook posts, etc.) or asking volunteers to make a call to a target (especially if they work with CalFood-funded produce). If you need help with outreach, please contact Daniela Ogden.
Thank you so much for your advocacy support. Together we can end hunger in California!
