We detail how it abandons a decades-long national, bi-partisan commitment to address hunger by proposing $193 billion in cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, known as CalFresh in California) over ten years.
The President’s budget blueprint takes aim at core nutrition and income support programs through harsh cuts to vital programs that will impact the health and economic security of over 4 million low-income Californians including children, working families, people with disabilities and seniors.
